Ever since the ripe young age of 10, I have wanted to go to the College World Series. At a time in my life when a typical day centered on snap bracelets, jolt cola, and zubaz pants; college baseball took over. I remember the first time seeing Rosenblatt Stadium on my television. It was around the first of June, in 1992. I was just about to finish the fifth grade, the unkempt look of grunge fashion was starting to grow, and Vanessa Williams was saving the best for last. Many things in life are too old, too insignificant, or just too damn pointless to recall; but for some reason I remember the '92 CWS like it was yesterday.

In what has become a regular occurrence since our celebrity President took office in January (no, I'm not talking about him and his family gracing the covers of gossip magazinges), I am forced to ingest another news article so sophomoric and daft in nature that I am thinking about poising my Orange Mocha Frappuccino right now.

You know the feeling you get when you run into an ex "significant other" randomly in the street? The feeling that you need to make small talk, but aren't quite sure of the topics that are appropriate. Your mind telling you to just ask about her job, ask about her family, tell her that you should meet up for drinks sometime but subliminally hoping you never see her again.

This week's column was actually not going to be political in nature, but I just can't help myself. In truth, I was hoping to scribe a ridiculous article on the top ten fictional athletes of all time (no, this does not include video game athletes; as Christian Okoye from Super Tecmo Bowl would have consumed the 1-10 spots all by himself). But, I feel it has become my duty to help the young people of this world understand just how bad some things are in Washington right now.
