As someone who actively uses VMWare products (VMWare Fusion for Mac OSX) on a daily basis, I'd have to say that I'm a major fan, and that I hope they continue to dominate the server virtualization market.

On the other hand, recent news of Sun releasing an open source virtualization product should make the market more interesting. http://weblog.infoworld.com/techwatch/archives/015882.html.

And their January 2008 acquisition of open source data_base_ darling MySQL, shows their strong commitment to the business model.

All those pundits who've counted Sun out, get ready to eat your words as they ride the open source revolution.

BTW, this website, millionairecorner.com is built on open source technology, so I guess I'm a bit biased.
