What do you think will be...or should be..in President Obama's big jobs speech coming up this week?

I don't have high expectations.  The best idea I have heard...from a politician whose name I will not mention....is to begin to drill for oil in some of the environmentally protected lands.  They have begun drilling in North Dakota in a field that was previously undiscovered and the unemployment rate is 3%.  They can't find enough people to build apartments or even work in the McDonald's.  The article I read said they are paying $15/hour to keep workers at the local McDonalds.  I think the reality of the future is that we can't bring jobs to people.  They need to go find them.  That' s why we have cellphones, Google Chat, Skype, etc.  We live in a global world and it's easy to communicate with friends and family wherever they may be.  People need to help themselves.

It's very simple:

1) Don't make any promises about where the unemployment level will not go above. His comment 2 years ago about ensuring that the unemployment rate would not rise above 8% was one of his biggest blunders of all time.

2) Let people know how closely you are trying to get everyone to work together in Congress. Don't use ambiguous buzz words; give specific examples of collaboration efforts in place to solve the problem.

3) Don't ask for money to solve the job problem. It's been proven by the original stimulus bill that demand-side Economic policy has not helped shore up employment in this environment.

Get the government the heck out of the way and let small business owners hire, rather than putting regulations in the way of progress.
